pH Minus (Reducer)

pH Minus (Reducer)

* Required Fields

The effectiveness of all chlorine based sanitisers decreases as the pH level of the water increases. pH minus (also known as pH reducer) can be added directly to the pool water to reduce the pH to a desirable level.

For the chlorine to remain effective, the pH level should be kept below 7.6. However if the pH level drops too low then the water can start to degrade pumps and liners, so aim to keep the pH level between 7.2 and 7.6.

pH minus is suitable for use in swimming pools, spas and hot tubs.

Dosing Instructions

Swimming Pools

Add 45g per 1,000l of pool water. Add required amount to a bucket of warm water and distributer evenly

Spa & Hot Tub

Add 10g (or approximately 2 teaspoons) of granular product to a 1 litre bucket of warm water and carefully distribute the solution around the spa whilst the pumps are turned on.

Re-test the water after 30 minutes and repeat as necessary. Aim for a pH level of between 7.2 to 7.6.

NB: If you are unable to maintain an appropriate pH level in your tub the most likely cause is that the the total alkalinity is too low. Always correct the total alkalinity balance before you attempt to balance the pH.
